I sometimes get upset because I can't engage people in individual action. People are either criticizing the government, fearing it (well, I'm in Malaysia, so you can imagine)or so pregnant with expectation of a radical government change. I'm always surprised at people's apathy : "But what can we do, our government won't change." I tell them, "Who said anything about the government?" When I make it clear I am apolitical, I have been called, "Stupid" for not caring about Malaysia's political fiasco. Nobody I have ever come across understands that by empowering young people to be intellectual, independent and savvy the movement of time will make all these problems we are having as a nation go away by itself.
